      • Hey, have you ever created a country?
        02/18/10
Have you? Most people haven't, I admit, but recently I created a real, working country with two of my friends. No, we did not invade the US :) but we made a website for our country. It's called Taose, and you can join and have fun!

      • You are now looking at the blog of a proud conlanger :)
        02/18/10
I am a conlanger! Are you a conlanger? A conlanger is a person who creates constructed languages, which are imaginary languages. A conlang is a constructed language, and conlanging is making constructed languages.
I already have 5 languages: Kwywa, Kjaytla, Celdonian, Miishish, and Tai. Some of

        01/04/10
Hello again! I have not been working on Clan Keeper--sorry!--but have enjoyed making my text editor and doing linguistics stuff. For example, I can basically write anything in hieroglyphics now reasonably fast thanks to my handy hieroglyphic text editor JSesh. I am also designing a whole language--I

      • Hello from a random library in America!
        12/09/09
I apologize that I have not been blogging...
Anyway, here I am in America, in a library with Internet and computers! Therefore I checked my forum for posts, did some stuff on my new website (more about that later), and discovered the awesome phpFormGenerator at SourceForge.
        As for the new

      • Hurray! Forum posts, at last!
        12/04/09
Hurray! I visited two girls a while ago and they are STILL posting stuff on my forums! It's awesome! I get to interact with them even while I'm away. I am definately going to send some more people emails about it once we're back in the Land of Fast Internet.
I have also put up th

        11/26/09
        As the title says...Happy Thanksgiving!
I have made a grave decision that will affect all versions of Clan Keeper for years to come: No Databases. It will be so much easier on me for deployment and compatibility to use plain files. I'll be able to use Java Web Start! Hurray! Now if only I

      • Hello again from my laptop!
        11/23/09
Hi! Yesterday I went to a house where there's a girl my age, and she also invited a friend of hers. So we played Chopsticks and Spoons (Spoons is the best card game ever for breaking the ice, by the way) and then we messed around on some DSs and a computer. So they've joined my forum (hurr

      • hello from another laptop!
        11/22/09
I'm going crazy with two other girls my age and its FUN!

      • Which forum do I choose? Navboard or disputa.de?
        11/19/09
Two forums so far look good and I don't know any other possibilities. One of them (Navboard) is currently trying to save settings. It doesn't look like it's succeeding. On the other hand, Navboard supposedly lets you not show their logo, which I would like! On yet another hand, I woul

      • Forum is up! :)
        11/18/09
I found a forum...a good one...one of those free versions of a commercial forum. So far its dependable. The only problem is that it shows the company's logo on the main forum page. Blah! I'm looking for a better one.
I hope to see you guys down there!

      • Warning: Forum is down
        11/18/09
Here I am at my aunt's huge house, typing away at this laptop which has not been connected to the Internet for ages! I deleted the forum. It was so buggy it was absolutely driving me crazy, so I am trying some other forum software. Then I will put on a guestbook (hopefully that will get a littl

      • Next trip accomplished successfully!
        11/14/09
Yesterday we drove for two hours to another house, where three kids and their parents live. We enjoyed playing a little with them that evening and then went to bed very tired.
Today we went to a place--hmm, what should I call it?--where there are old houses and reconstructions of old houses wit

      • Today--showers (thumbs down), my dad comes (thumbs up)
        11/12/09
I am here typing as the washing machine fills. When it's finished, I have to go take a shower, so I'm going to make it quick!
Today my dad is finally coming here! Did I mention before that the rest of my family (my mom, Catherine, and me) went to America first, and then my dad is comi

      • Blah blah blah...
        11/10/09
Blah blah blah...today I needed 3 shots and my lucky sister only needed one. Now both arms ache and I am practicing the art of typing using only wrist and finger muscles. I hate flu shots especially (last time my arm ached really bad for a week) though personally I'd rather have an aching arm t

      • Clan Keeper zooms ahead!
        11/09/09
Today I spent my day debugging Clan Keeper! First of all, I had to add a lot to the warrior functions, as they were very buggy. Second, I added a little label to the theme control panel that states the current theme. Third, I fixed a problem I was having with a save-to-text-file function. All I did

      • A tale of wi-fi cards, mysterious problems, and wonderful success
        11/08/09
        The Tale of Wi-fi Cards:
Yesterday I was able to connect to the Internet at my grandmother's with my D-Link AirPlus card thingy for connecting to wireless. Today, when I put the card in, it blinks once and then stops. The computer just doesn't recognize it. I didn't drop it or an

      • Now how many devices support Internet?
        11/08/09
Yesterday my family went to the local phone store, as my grandmother's phone was acting funny. So while my mom and my grandmother were busy troubleshooting with the staff, me and my sister messed with the phones on display. It was fun! I went on all the phones that supported Internet and looked

      • Safe in America!
        11/06/09
Okay, here I am! I survived without Internet! There was Internet at the airport, but you had to pay for it. There was even Internet on the airplane (!) but of course you had to pay for it.
Jetlag has been almost no problem. Now that is amazing! When we first got back from the airport, it was ma

      • Wikis rock! (Especially mine)
        11/03/09
I love wikis! I found some great free wiki software called WikiRootry. You can go to www.sourceforge.net and look up WikiRootry, and there you go, you can download it. I'm making a neat wiki for all my imaginary planets, and boy is it fun! Even my sister loves it!
The related link is to my

      • Today is the day! Hurray! (hey, that rhymes)
        11/03/09
Today we go to America at 7:30 pm! :) I can't wait to see all my friends and family there. It will be super fun!
I'll keep you guys updated when I have the chance.

        P. S. When are you going to start leaving comments for me? I don't want to nag, but I would really super

      • Here's the news: 1) One more day! 2) New features! 3) I'd have to install Apache too for a MediaWiki wiki
        11/02/09
Okay, first things first: I'm going to America tomorrow! Can you believe I forgot until now?! We're going to be picked up to go to the airport at 7:30 pm, and I'm bringing the laptop with me. Maybe there will be Internet at the airport!

News number two: I've added a wi

      • Can I turn my computer into a mini-server?
        11/01/09
        I have MySQL installed!
        I could install PHP!
I don't care if I can't make an official website, you know, something like alison.com or anything like that!
Could I install MediaWiki and have my own Wikipedia-style wiki? Now that would be absolutely and completely cool!!! Perso

      • Should I switch to a different web server?
        11/01/09
        The bads:
--Doesn't support PHP 5 or later
--Doesn't support any kind of databases
        --Doesn't support Java servlets

        10/31/09
Hello, Administrator here! Catherine Noonan has decided that she wants to have her own separate blog, so now this is Alison's Adventure Journal instead of the Noonan Adventure Journal. Thanks for visiting!

      • What I hate about looking for software, part 1
        10/31/09
I really don't like software that...
--Doesn't tell you how much it costs or doesn't cost right out
--Doesn't tell you what the difference is between the demo and the real thing
--Has a website, but it doesn't work anymore
--Rambles on about how great it

      • Christmas in October? Yes!
        10/30/09
My family is going to be going to America soon. We're arriving back on Christmas Eve--yikes! We're going to have a jetlagged Christmas! :( However, so we can still have our tree, we're setting it up TODAY, listening to Christmas music, watching all the Christmas movies...etc. Hurray!

      • Another mix up -- sorry
        10/30/09
Okay, I forget to make the time properly. So if you think I was blogging at midnight, I wasn't! I just forget to properly format the time. I apologize!
        p. s. When am I ever going to stop mixing up stuff? :)

      • Sorry for the mix up
        10/30/09
I apologize...I first blogged as the Administrator instead of as Alison. So when you see "Administrator" on the first entry, please read "Alison" instead. Sorry!

        10/29/09
Welcome! I just started today. I'm excited about this tool!!
Anyway, I found it on Sourceforge.net, which by the way is THE place for finding free open source stuff. It's called Simple PHP Blog, and that's exactly what it is. No database, simple installation, simple use. Hurray!
